Design, Copyediting, Web Producer
Software: CCI, Adobe PhotoShop, Microsoft FrontPage, AOL Rainman, Adobe Illustrator, QuarkXPress, QuickTime, HTML
Description:I worked as a Page Designer, designing Metro pages, inside A, Business and Neighbors sections. I was trained on CCI to layout pages on their system. Eventually, I took a full-time job across the room at Orlando Sentinel Online as a News Producer. I manually edited and created web pages for the website. We also edited photos, video and graphics for the site as well. We changed the daily poll and also updated the Orlando news pages on America Online. We had to size photos for AOL and sent them into their system through their Rainman, their proprietary software.
We edited pages for four sections, News, Life, Business and Sports. We would get budgets from the newspaper and decide where the stories would go and coordinate photos if there were any. Then we would edit the pages and save them to the staging server when they were done. Eventually, they would be updated automatically to the live server.
