The following links are some slideshows and stories from my work at Microsoft during the year I was there. All of these projects ran on MSN.com. For some of these, I did the photo research only and for some, I did the creative photoshop work. The subjects, type of work and departments that requested the work varies. Many of my online projects were promoted on the homepage of MSN.com and gained more than 3 million hits when launched.

This entertainment slideshow request was for MSN and ran on the site in late 2008. It was about the ‘Last Girl Standing’ in horror movies and was challenging in that a lot of the photos were movie stills and not high-res quality in some cases because they were taken from older movies. This was promoted on the MSN home page and received more than 3 million hits.

I worked on this video project for The Soul of Athens, a multimedia project for Ohio University’s School of Visual Communication. The Spring 2008 project was titled, The Pursuit of Wellness in Athens County, which explored both the positive and negative aspects of the subject. I was part of a class where we were Content Producers, which essentially meant we were the team that managed and coordinated all the content for the site, most of which were video projects. We didn’t have much control over the design and mechanics of the site, which fell into the domain of another class at OU. But when it came to the content, we controlled most of it and worked with the technical team to make it work.

I worked for the Media Team as a Multimedia Producer. It was a well-organized operation and I really liked everyone I worked with there. My job was specifically to do the ‘Emotional Moments’ slideshows for the Beijing Olympics. Because of the time difference, I worked shortened days, but worked 6 days a week and I started the new slideshow every day.
I also created several breaking news slideshows, which helped prepare me for doing the Olympics slideshow. I was also trained to capture screen shots from the live NBC feed for breaking news using their Avid system. Part of the job included contributing to the Photo Blog, so I blogged about the Olympics photos.

Soul of Athens was a special online project completed during Spring Quarter 2008. I was part of a class that handled the Content Management for the project. I found content from other students and coordinated with the project Team Leaders. I also handled a lot of trouble shooting and training for the project.
