Chris Lowney

Chris is a book author and he had a new book coming out, so he wanted to update the site to get a new design and add the book that was launching. We used a template and I customized it for him and switched it over to WordPress. I did the photo work for him and helped edit the site as well as designed the site. This site launched in Sept., 2013.

The Legacy of Eastgate Website

This is a site for a documentary movie on a neighborhood in Eastern Columbus. It was part of a series for the Columbus 200th anniversary and the main parts of the series ran on PBS locally. The site launched in 2013. This was one of my first sites. We used a WordPress theme and I customized everything to fit into the site and changed the code to make it work for our needs. I used JavaScript and PHP to setup the interactivity. As with most of my sites, I design it and set it up and then I release it to the client and no longer have anything to do with the site.

Brand Thunder Browsers

I briefly did some work for a startup in Columbus called Brand Thunder. They design customized browsers. I remember I used to download and install browser themes (or skins as we called them back then) in 1999-’00. It’s an interesting business model. The Bing search engine is built into the browser. Right now they design for Internet Explorer, Firefox and soon Chrome. I’m mostly doing generic browsers and anything else little that they need done.

Athens, OH Diabetes Project

I designed this site for the College of Nursing to target a new project focusing on Diabetes. They never had enough money to launch the website.

Re-edit of Troubled Waters C8 Documentary

I was contacted by WOUB about a documentary project we did for class on the DuPont C8 contamination in the Ohio River. The class was divided into teams for our final project and my team was made up of myself, Mike Burden, Lauren Malazia and Trevor Carmick. This class was actually in the T-Comm Department (Telecommunications) and all three of my teammates were T-Comm undergrad students in the film sequence. The subject was actually my idea and I did all the research and found all of the subjects for our documentary, as well as serving as the interviewer. I did not do a lot of work behind the camera for this project, but I did much of the editing in Final Cut Pro and all of the LiveType work.

MSN: April Fool’s Day 2009

This quirky news slideshow request was for MSN and ran on the site just before April 1. It was about April Fool’s Pranks and was challenging in that I had to find specific things that were a bit odd. It turned out pretty good considering, though. The editor who made the request was very happy.

MSN: African-American TV Presidents

This TV-related slideshow request was for MSN and ran on the site around the time Barack Obama was inaugurated the first time. There were many related sideshows around that time.
