This was a consulting job I was hired for to finish up a WordPress design job for Iacono’s Pizza. They had already chosen a theme and a designer had designed graphics, but I had to do some back-end work to get the staging server to work and I set up the site so we could start working on the design. This was kind of an enhanced editing job. I had to do a lot of formatting in the menu section and basically putting things into place, so they’d work. I tweaked the code to get it to look right.
This was a consulting job for Estep Media Services for a redesign for Phoenix Hydraulic website. All the details were set by the Media Service and Phoenix Hydraulic staff and then they handed it off to me for development.
This was a 2-month contract as a Digital Designer for the Marketing Team at HealthyDirections.com in Bethesda, MD. The remote contract was through Robert Half.
I was asked by someone in my company (CAS) to design a holiday card for one of the departments. They gave me a mockup someone did that was truly awful. This was a holiday card they wanted to send out to all of their subscribers and partners to say thank you around holiday time. In the past, they had done a patent design, so I took that idea and searched online for patents related to the holiday season.
I occasionally do tutorials to sharpen my skills and this is a PhotoShop 3D Tutorial that I did for a possible Holiday Campaign. The Interface is a manual slider, so you can see and compare the before-and-after images. Position your cursor over the image to see the original compared with my version on the right.
This is a series of Before and After pics from Image Restoration work that I have done over the years. When an image becomes a sepia color, it means it has aged, so when restoring images, I switch it back to the original B&W, unless the client desires the image to be Sepia toned. The Interface is a manual slider, so you can see and compare the before-and-after images.
I taught this design class Fall Semester 2017 for the School of Visual Communication at Ohio University in Athens, OH. I had 11 undergraduates (mostly Freshman & Sophomores) in my class, who had never had a design class before, so their experience varied. I guided them through basic principles of design and gave them their first introduction to InDesign. Their projects included designing a tools guide for InDesign, 2 posters, a resume and a magazine cover and inside layout.
